Patryk Jaracz is a Polish documentary photographer.
His work is focused on human rights, specifically in the region of Eastern Europe. While reporting on the subject during the 2020 fraudulent presidential elections in Belarus, Patryk was also arrested and tortured at Okrestina 36 detention center in Minsk alongside thousands of illegally detained people.
In January 2022, Patryk moved permanently to Kyiv, and since then is working all over Ukraine, documenting the war and its consequences on the lives of those impacted by it.
Patryk’s work has gained several recognitions in 2023 such as Photo of The Year by UNICEF, First prize in Photojournalism at the Xposure International Photo Festival, and Gold in Tokyo International Foto Awards. His work on Ukraine was also shortlisted at the Barcelona Human Rights Photo Festival.
His projects have been internationally exhibited and published in The Times, ITV (UK), LeFigaro, LCI (France), Die Zeit, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Das Erste, ZDF (Germany), Polish Press Agency, Vogue, TVN24 (Poland), 20minutos, El Pais (Spain), Elle, Suspilne, Zaborona (Ukraine), Ukraine: A war crime book by FotoEvidence (USA).
