Golgotha

🇮🇹 Golgota significa Calvario in ebraico. Nella Bibbia, la collina dove Gesù venne crocifisso. Nell’Impero romano si trattava della pena più crudele. In Israele rappresenta il punto di pellegrinaggio più importante. Con questo progetto il fotografo ha cercato di capire i diversi volti dell’evangelizzazione in Brasile, che è la più grande nazione cattolica al mondo. Ha provato a comprendere le differenze tra i cattolici più tradizionali e i tupiniquim, il Cristo verde e giallo nella bandiera del Brasile e le contraddizioni che porta con sè.

🇬🇧 Golgotha means “The Place of the Skull” in Hebrew. In the Bible, the hill where Jesus was crucified. In the Roman Empire it was the most cruel penalty. In Israel it represents the main pilgrimage point. With this project the photographer tries to understand the different faces of evangelization in Brazil which is the largest catholic nation in the world. He tried to find the gaps in between the Catholics and the Tupiniquims, the Jesus green and yellow from the Brazilian flag and the contradictions it brings.
