THE LIVES OF OTHERSESZTER Halasi
The Last Travellers

The GRT (Gypsy, Roma, and Travellers) are widely considered to be among the most socially excluded groups in the UK. The New Age Traveller communities are also part of these disadvantaged layers of society.
Eszter Halasi’s documentation aims at depicting the life of those living on the road and sticking to their nomadic and traditional traveler lifestyle, despite the government’s constant harassment whose goal is forcing them to settle down with regulations.
This project isn’t just a documentary series but it’s a visual ode to the resilience, dignity, and strength of these people who move through the world with a sense of purpose and profound connection to their surroundings. Eszter takes us on a poignant journey while delicately depicting a fading world, in the hope that these pictures can build bridges, promote a better understanding and enhance empathy between worlds apart.
