Musuk Nolte is a Mexican photographer and he is a nationalized Peruvian. His work strives between documentary and artistic photography to approach social issues, such as memory and environmental depredation often working with communities and cultures from the Andean and Amazonian regions.
He holds a degree in Professional Photography and a specialization in contemporary Photography. Has been awarded in several competitions, such as the World Press Photo (2023) and the X National Photography Award “Eugene Courret” (2009), among others. He has also been FONCA Fellowship (2010), ON AIR – Krems Residency program (2007), World Press Photo Master Class – Latam (2015), Magnum Foundation’s Emergency Fund (2017), The Elliott Erwitt HC7 Fellowship (2017) Vital Impacts Grantee (2022), Leica Oscar Barnack Award nominee (2020), Lightworks artist in residency and Bertha Foundation Fellow (2022). He is currently a National Geographic Explorer. Mususk has also been a member of the Latin america jury for the World PRess Photo Foundation in 2023.
Since 2013, Nolte is the founder and editor of KWY Ediciones, an independent publishing house and platform for visual narratives for Latin American authors.

A few years into the armed conflict in Peru (1980-2000), clashes rapped villagers in the furthest Andean localities, primarily farmers, in a no-way-out situation, caught between the armed forces and the Shining Path terrorist group, resulting in over 65,000 dead and 15,000 missing people. Since 2011, the photographer documented the restitution of remains and traditional mourning processes, aiming at honoring victims and contributing to collective memory.
