This project is a reflection on the period of the pandemic, experienced and seen through the eyes of adolescents. The goal is to reflect on their ability of adaptation. Challenged by continuous changing rules dictated by an unprecedented situation, the many Government laws and new behaviours to adopt, an entire generation has faced a crucial period in the formation of their individuality. The experience of the first kiss, the first sexual discoveries, parties, evenings out with friends, of school work, of group life, of first loves were all interrupted and they had to face a time of teaching and relationships at a distance, mediated by the screens of smartphones and computers.
The photographer asked some of them what they had discovered during this time, what and who had kept them company, how they had maintained a relationship with their world, what they had learned about themselves and how they will face life after this experience.
Finally, he asked what colour could represent them to create a setting around them, a tunnel, and condense the experiences, desires and dreams – even if partial – of each of them into a single photograph.
The images in this exhibition represent the free and playful interpretation that the photographer gave after collecting the precious answers of the teenagers.
