MOTHER EARTH

The Festival’s decision not to have a general theme for all exhibitions has always been a need for simplicity combined with freedom of choice.
However, in each edition, it was decided to dedicate a space to a specific theme.
This allows us to take advantage of the overall depth and variety of languages that only the combination of multiple photographers is able to give.
Mother Earth wants to draw attention to our planet in all its nuances. A reflection on the environment, the infinite variety, and fragility of the ecosystems that populate the Earth and represent its wealth, constantly poised between protection and destruction.
In this thematic space, we want to tell the landscape between enchantment and scarring, between the beauty that saves and the pollution that destroys.

STORIES OF COURAGE

Stories of perseverance, heroism and generosity. Stories that can move people and make them think. Stories that help to spread empathy and generosity.

GLANCE ON THE WORLD

The Festival of Italian Photojournalism could not miss a space dedicated to the events that have marked, in the last year, the news and the lives of so many people in a global and interconnected world. An area dedicated to know reality, to understand it and to be able to change it.

The historical section of the Festival is inspired by reports commissioned by non-profit organizations on the territories and themes in which they operate.
Voices and testimonies that we can know only thanks to the effort of photographers engaged directly in the field.
Once again, the image is the engine for change.

World.Report Award 2020

The World.Report Award is the international competition of the Festival of Lodi, which aims to give voice and support to the social commitment of photographers and is aimed at all Italians and foreigners, professionals and not.
The subject is humanity with its public and private events, its small and big stories; the social phenomena, the customs, the civilizations, the great tragedies and the small daily joys, the changes and the immutability.
